Hobbs to Hobbs
Georgia, Greene County. Know all men by these presents that, I, Joel G. Hobbs of said state and county for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear to my mother, Mary Hobbs, of the same county and state before mentioned and for in consideration of the sum of five dollars cash in hand paid by the said Mary Hobbs the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do by these presents give and grant unto my said mother, Mary Hobbs, a certain negro woman by the name of Rachel of dark complexion, supposed to be forty-five years old. To have and to hold said negro woman Rachel to her the said Mary Hobbs during her natural life and at her death to the children of said Mary Hobbs. And I appoint my father, Nathan Hobbs, trustee of the property aforesaid.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this [blank] day of September 1846.
