Peg and Joshua sold by Nathan Ryan to Joseph Buckhannon

This post is part of an ongoing project to record names of enslaved people of Greene County, Georgia I find in historical records.

601 - Know all Men by these presents that I, Nathan Ryan, of the county of Greene have bargained, sold, made over, and delivered unto Joseph Buckhannon one negro woman slave called and known by the name of Peg, together with her child Joshua for the valuable consideration of seventy-five pounds to me in hand paid before the sealing of these presents wherewith I confess myself fully satisfied, contented, and paid, and I, the said Nathan Ryan, do warrant and forever defend the right and title of the said negroes from all and every person whatever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-first day of March 1796.
