This post is part of an ongoing project to record names of enslaved people of Greene County, Georgia I find in historical records.
Greene Sheriff’s Sale.
Will be sold before the Court House door in the city of Greenesboro, on the first Tuesday in March next, within the legal hours of sale, the following property to-wit:
Thirty-nine acres of land, lying in Greene county, adjoining lands of Thompson Malone, Wm. Sanders, and others, it being the place whereon Elias B. Corliew now lives—levied on as the property of Jos. M. Cox, to satisfy a fi fa. from Greene Superior Court in favor of J. H. Crews vs. J. M. Cox. Property pointed out by plaintiff’s attorney.
Also, at the same time and place, will be sold, a negro man by the name of William—levied on as the property of John P. Scott, to satisfy a fi fa. from Greene Superior Court in favor of Hand, Williams & Wilcox vs. R. C. Scott & Co., makers, and John P. Scott, endorser.
